Here at Coonabarabran Stargazing, we have one goal in mind, share the beauty and knowledge of our fantastic area, with as many people as possible. Our passion lies in sharing this area with everyone and sharing the important work being done. The Warrumbungles dark sky park is the only internationally recognised dark sky park in Australia, making it a unique and wonderful area for every traveller. Due to this recognition and the foundation of Siding Springs in 1964, the local town of Coonabarabran adopted special lighting policies over the years in an endeavour to keep our night skies dark. Part of our goal is to share the importance of good lighting habits and behaviours, as this not only helps our skies but also our nocturnal animals too.
